โ๏ธ Shiyu Defense Deep Dive โ Full Floor-by-Floor Strategy Guide
What Is Shiyu Defense?
Shiyu Defense is ZZZ's primary endgame mode, consisting of 7 floors (F1-F7) that reset twice per month. Each floor requires you to defeat waves of enemies within a time limit. Starting from F5, the mode splits into two sides (Node 1 and Node 2), requiring two fully-built teams. The primary rewards are Polychrome (up to 720 per rotation) and various upgrade materials.
- Reset schedule: 1st and 16th of each month
- Key milestone: Floor 5+ requires two teams
- Star conditions: 3 stars per floor (defeat all enemies, no deaths, within time)
- Rotation buff: Changes each reset with unique bonuses
๐ฏ Current Rotation: "Frostburn Resonance" (v2.8)
The current Shiyu Defense rotation (June 2026) features the Frostburn Resonance season buff, which heavily favors Ice Anomaly and Disorder teams.
Season Buff Details
- Active effect: When any squad member triggers Frostburn or Freeze, the entire squad gains 18% ATK for 12 seconds (stacks up to 2 times)
- Added effect: Disorder damage is increased by 25% when triggered on a Frozen or Frostburn-affected enemy
- Synergy targets: Miyabi, Promeia, Ellen Joe, Soukaku, Lycaon
This rotation creates a significant advantage for Frost/Ice compositions. If you have Miyabi, this is the rotation to push your best scores. Non-Ice teams can still clear but may need higher investment to match the buffed Ice teams.
๐๏ธ Floor-by-Floor Breakdown
F1-F4: Warm-Up (Single Team)
These floors are straightforward and can be cleared with a single strong team. The enemy HP scaling is moderate, and you have generous time limits.
- Recommended: Use your weaker team here; save your best team for F5-F7
- Budget option: Anby + Nicole + Billy (free team) clears F1-F3 easily
- Efficiency tip:้ไฝ than raising multiple characters for F1-F4
F5 (Two Nodes, Recommended Level 50)
Node 1 โ Enemy lineup: Rampant Brute (Physical) + Shielded Police (Electric). Weaknesses: Ice, Fire. The Rampant Brute charges frequently โ use dodge counters to build Daze.
- Best team: Ellen/Lycaon/Soukaku (Ice), or Soldier 11/Koleda/Lucy (Fire)
- Key mechanic: Break the Shielded Police's guard with Stun attacks
Node 2 โ Enemy lineup: Corruption Complex (Ether) + Crossbow Soldiers (Physical). Weaknesses: Electric, Ether.
- Best team: Qingyi/Zhu Yuan/Nicole (Ether burst), or Grace/Anby/Rina (Electric shock)
- Key mechanic: Corruption Complex teleports frequently โ save EX special for after teleport
F6 (Two Nodes, Recommended Level 55)
Node 1 โ Enemy lineup: Dullahan (Physical) + Shielded Sumo (Fire). Weaknesses: Ice, Electric.
- Best team: Miyabi + Promeia + Soukaku (Frost), or Grace + Yanagi (Electro Disorder)
- Key mechanic: Dullahan's scythe spin attack has a long recovery window โ punish with burst combos
Node 2 โ Enemy lineup: Sacrifice (Fire) + Malefic Guards (Physical). Weaknesses: Physical, Ether.
- Best team: Jane Doe + Burnice + Caesar (Disorder), or Zhu Yuan + Qingyi + Nicole
- Key mechanic: Sacrifice self-buffs with a fire aura โ use Nicole's EX special to dispel or wait it out
F7 (Two Nodes, Recommended Level 60)
Node 1 โ Bringer of Order (Ether, Boss). Weaknesses: Fire, Physical.
The Bringer of Order is the current F7 boss. Its main mechanics include:
- Order's Decree: Periodically marks a character โ dodge immediately after the mark expires to avoid massive damage
- Ether Barrage: Fires homing Ether projectiles โ hide behind obstacles or use i-frame EX specials
- Daze window: 15-second stun window where all damage is doubled โ save all bursts for this
- Best team: Burnice + Jane Doe + Caesar (Disorder), or Soldier 11 + Lighter + Lucy (Fire)
Node 2 โ Corrupted Goliath (Electric, Boss). Weaknesses: Ice, Ether.
The Corrupted Goliath is a heavy-hitting melee boss with slow but devastating attacks:
- Sonic Slam: Ground pound with massive AoE โ double dodge to evade
- Corruption Nova: Charged AoE at 50% HP โ interrupt with Stun or i-frame through
- Weak point: Back legs take 50% increased damage during stagger
- Best team: Miyabi + Lycaon + Soukaku (Ice burst), or Zhu Yuan + Qingyi + Nicole (Ether)
๐ Top Team Archetypes for Current Rotation
1. ๐ฅ Frost Disorder โ S+ Tier (Recommended)
Miyabi + Promeia + Soukaku. This team leverages the Frostburn Resonance buff to its maximum potential. Miyabi drives Frostburn, Promeia amplifies Frost accumulation, and Soukaku provides ATK buffs. This is the single strongest team composition for the current rotation.
2. ๐ฅ Burnice Disorder โ S Tier
Jane Doe + Burnice + Caesar. Classic Disorder team that works regardless of rotation buff. Jane applies Physical Assault, Burnice maintains afterburn for immediate Disorder triggers, and Caesar provides shield + ATK buff. Consistent 7-star performance.
3. โก Yanagi Polarity Disorder โ S Tier
Yanagi + Burnice + Lucy. Yanagi's Polarity Disorder creates extended Disorder chains with Burnice's afterburn. Lucy provides team ATK buff through her Gu-Pig summon. Excellent for Electric-weak F5 Node 2.
4. ๐ฆ Ice Burst โ A+ Tier
Ellen + Lycaon + Soukaku. The classic Ice burst composition. Lycaon stuns and amplifies Ice damage, Soukaku buffs ATK, and Ellen delivers burst damage during the stun window. Strong but requires good timing.
5. ๐ฎ Ether Burst โ A Tier
Zhu Yuan + Qingyi + Nicole. The Ether burst team relies on Qingyi's fast stuns, Nicole's DEF shred, and Zhu Yuan's enhanced shotgun shells. Strong against Ether-weak content but weaker against non-Ether-weak enemies.
๐ Budget & F2P Team Options
If you're missing key S-rank agents, these budget teams can still clear up to F6 comfortably:
| Budget Team | Core | Max Floor | Investment Needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free Phys Team | Anby + Billy + Nicole | F5 | Level 50, A-rank W-Engines |
| Budget Electric | Anby + Grace + Rina | F6 | Grace M1+, Rina M0 |
| Budget Fire | Piper + Lucy + Soukaku | F5 | Piper M6, Lucy M6 |
| Budget Ice | Soukaku + Anby + Ellen (if owned) | F6 | Soukaku M6 for max buff |
| M6 A-Rank Cheese | Piper M6 + Lucy M6 + Nicole M6 | F7 (2 stars) | All M6, level 55+, good Drive Discs |
โฑ๏ธ Cycle Management & Speed Tips
Shiyu Defense scoring is time-based. Each floor has a target time for 3 stars (usually 3-5 minutes). Here are the most important speed optimization tips:
- Energy management: Start each fight with full energy โ don't waste EX specials on the first wave if a second wave is coming
- Daze priorities: Focus Daze-building on the highest-threat enemy first. Stunned enemies take 50-100% increased damage depending on your stun multiplier
- Chain attack optimization: Skip chain attacks on small enemies during timed runs. Only use chain attacks on bosses or high-HP elites
- Bangboo selection: Use faction-matching Bangboo for the extra chain attack damage. For example, Butler Bangboo with Victoria Housekeeping agents
- Rotation reset trick: If a node has multiple waves, time your Anomaly procs so they carry over to the next wave
โ Frequently Asked Questions
With the current Frostburn Resonance buff, a level 55 Miyabi team with decent Drive Discs can solo-carry one side to F7. For the other side, a level 55 Disorder team (Jane/Burnice or Yanagi/Burnice) with good substats can handle F7 Node 2. Minimum account level: Inter-Knot 50+ recommended.
It's very difficult but possible with maxed-out A-rank teams (M6 Piper, M6 Lucy, M6 Nicole) and excellent gear. Most players will need at least 2-3 limited S-rank agents for a comfortable F7 clear at this rotation's difficulty level.
Save your strongest team for F7 Node 1 (the Bringer of Order), as it's the hardest boss in the rotation. Your second-best team goes to F7 Node 2. For F5 and F6, try to use teams that have an elemental advantage rather than your absolute best team.
Not necessarily. Most Shiyu Defense floors don't have attrition mechanics โ you can restart if a character dies. However, Caesar (shield) or Astra Yao (healing + buff) can significantly improve consistency. The main priority is damage output, not sustain.
