๐ Character Overview
Jane Doe is an S-rank Physical Anomaly character and the masked vigilante operating in the criminal underworld of New Eridu. She is a high-risk, high-reward melee DPS who specializes in rapid Physical Anomaly buildup and devastating Assault procs.
Jane's unique mechanic is her Predator Instinct passive. As she lands attacks, she builds up stacks of Predator Instinct (max 5 stacks). Each stack increases her Anomaly Proficiency by 30. At 5 stacks, her next Assault trigger is guaranteed to CRIT and deals 50% bonus CRIT DMG. This makes Jane one of the few Anomaly characters who cares about both Anomaly Proficiency and CRIT stats โ her optimal build requires a careful balance between the two.
Strengths: Fastest Physical Anomaly build-up in the game (3-4 seconds per Assault proc at full build); Assault procs can CRIT โ rare for anomaly characters; high mobility with multiple gap-closers in her kit; excellent synergy with Disorder compositions. Weaknesses: Must stay in melee range to maintain Predator Instinct stacks (high risk); stacks decay when off-field for more than 3 seconds; requires precise dodge timing to maintain uptime; heavily dependent on her signature stat balance between AP and CRIT.
Base Stats (Lv. 60)
๐ง Best W-Engine (Weapon)
| Priority | W-Engine | Rarity | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| ๐ฅ Best | Sharpened Stinger | S | Jane's signature W-Engine. Provides 40 Anomaly Proficiency at R1 and a powerful passive: when Jane triggers Assault, her next 3 attacks deal 35% bonus damage. Also grants 15% CRIT Rate against enemies below 50% HP. Designed perfectly for Jane's playstyle of rapid, high-crit Assault procs. |
| ๐ฅ Alternative | Electro-Lip Gloss | A | Battle Pass W-Engine. Converts AP into bonus damage. At R5, approximately 80% of signature performance. The damage conversion formula works well with Jane's high AP build. |
| ๐ฅ Alternative | Rainforest Gourmet | A | Standard banner A-rank. Provides ATK% and anomaly efficiency. At R5, roughly 72% of signature performance. Reliable F2P choice. |
| ๐ Budget | Weeping Cradle | A | Craftable. Provides ATK% and energy on anomaly trigger. Good energy economy. ~60% of signature performance. |
๐ฟ Drive Disc Recommendations
Best Set: Fanged Metal (4-Piece) + Freedom Blues (2-Piece)
Fanged Metal 4-Piece: Increases Physical DMG by 10%. When an enemy is afflicted with Assault, the equipper's Physical DMG increases by an additional 18% for 12 seconds. Since Jane triggers Assault every 3-4 seconds at full build, this set bonus has near-100% uptime.
Freedom Blues 2-Piece: Increases Anomaly Proficiency by 30. Essential for reaching the AP threshold needed for fast Assault buildup.
Main Stat Priority
| Slot | Main Stat | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Slot IV | CRIT Rate | Jane's core passive gives Assault 20% CRIT Rate and 50% CRIT DMG. Slot IV CRIT Rate maximizes her Assault CRIT consistency. Anomaly Proficiency is also viable but CRIT Rate yields higher average damage. |
| Slot V | Physical DMG Bonus | Increases all Physical damage including Assault procs. |
| Slot VI | ATK% / Anomaly Mastery | ATK% is a universal stat that increases both normal hits and Assault damage. Anomaly Mastery increases proc speed. |
Substat Priority
Anomaly Proficiency > CRIT Rate (until 60%) > CRIT DMG > ATK%
Target threshold: 300+ Anomaly Proficiency, 60%+ CRIT Rate on Assault procs.
โญ Skill Priority
| Priority | Skill | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| S+ Highest | Basic Attack (Predator Combo) | Jane's primary damage and anomaly build-up tool. Her 5-hit basic attack chain builds Predator Instinct stacks faster than any other skill. The final hit (fifth strike) applies double the normal anomaly buildup. Level 12 priority. |
| S Highest | EX Special Attack | Burst damage + large anomaly buildup. Also applies 2 stacks of Predator Instinct instantly. Level 10-12. |
| A High | Dodge Counter | Perfect dodge into counterattack applies 1 Predator stack. Level 8-10 โ essential for maintaining uptime. |
| B Medium | Chain Attack / Ultimate | Both deal solid burst damage and apply large anomaly buildup. Level 8-10. |
๐ค Team Compositions
๐ฅ Best Disorder (Meta)
Jane + Burnice + Caesar
The top Jane team in the current meta. Burnice applies off-field Fire Burn while Jane builds Physical Assault. The Fire + Physical combo triggers Disorder for massive bonus damage. Caesar provides shields and ATK buff. This team has excellent damage, survivability, and flexibility.
๐ฅ Double Anomaly (High Consistency)
Jane + Piper + Lucy
A budget-friendly team that's surprisingly effective. Piper spins up Physical Anomaly while Jane builds stacks. Between the two of them, Assault procs happen every 1.5-2 seconds. Lucy provides team-wide ATK buff. This team is excellent for F2P players who don't have limited S-ranks.
๐ฅ Shield Core (Survival)
Jane + Seth + Caesar
Maximum survivability. Seth provides shields and Anomaly Proficiency buff. Caesar provides an even bigger shield and ATK buff. Jane is essentially invincible with two shield layers, allowing aggressive play. This team sacrifices some Disorder damage for safety โ ideal for harder content like Hollow Zero high corruption levels.
๐ฎ Playstyle & Rotation
- Build Stacks: Open with Jane's basic attack chain. Build to 5 Predator Instinct stacks as quickly as possible. Each stack adds 30 AP โ at 5 stacks, Jane has 150 bonus AP.
- Proc Assault: Once the Physical Anomaly gauge is full (4-5 basic attack rotations), the Assault triggers automatically. With 5 Predator stacks, this Assault is guaranteed to CRIT for massive damage.
- Dodge to Maintain: Stacks decay after 3 seconds off-field. Use perfect dodges (Dodge Counter) to refresh stacks without leaving melee range.
- EX Special Burst: Use EX Special when anomaly gauge is at 70-80% to trigger a rapid Assault and immediately build 2 Predator stacks for the next cycle.
- Disorder Rotation: In Disorder teams, alternate between Jane (Physical) and your secondary anomaly character (Fire/Burnice or Piper) to keep triggering Disorder on every proc.
โ ๏ธ Important: Jane's Predator Instinct stacks decay rapidly. If you spend more than 3 seconds off-field, you lose all stacks and have to rebuild from zero. Avoid switching off Jane for extended periods โ this is why she works best with quick-swap supports who buff and leave immediately.
โ FAQ
Sharpened Stinger is a significant upgrade (~25% over the next best option), but Jane is still excellent without it. Electro-Lip Gloss at R5 or Rainforest Gourmet at R5 are both very functional. The most important thing for Jane is hitting the AP threshold of 300+ โ this can be achieved through Drive Disc substats even without her signature.
Fanged Metal 4-piece + Freedom Blues 2-piece is the standard. For the main stats: CRIT Rate on Slot IV (to maximize her Assault CRIT rate), Physical DMG on Slot V, ATK% on Slot VI. Aim for at least 300 Anomaly Proficiency from substats alone. If you can't reach 300 AP through substats, consider running AP on Slot IV instead of CRIT Rate.
They serve different roles. Jane is an offensive anomaly DPS who wants to be the main carry. Piper is more of a sub-DPS/off-field anomaly builder who supports Disorder teams. Jane's personal damage is significantly higher (~40% more damage per Assault), but Piper provides more consistent off-field anomaly buildup. They work best together in the same team โ Jane as the primary DPS and Piper as the secondary anomaly applier.
